Although we have had a sharp increase in puppy enquiries since the pandemic began, we have temporarily suspended our breeding program in this uncertain time. We hope to resume our litter plans in the near future.
Here at Ahzu, we believe in ethical and responsible breeding. We are registered with Dogs NSW and regularly show our dogs in the conformation ring, ensuring we are producing puppies in line with the Australian Standard. We breed with the aim of producing confident, happy and healthy puppies. All dogs used in our breeding program are Hip & Elbow scored, ACES & Gonioscopy Eye Tested and all puppies are Litter Eye Screened and Bile Acid Tested before leaving for their new homes.
We pride ourselves on the level of care we give all our dogs, ensuring their needs are not merely met. As an extension of this, much time and care is put into raising puppies at Ahzu. Puppies are exposed to Early Neurological Stimulation and Sound Proof Puppy Training, introduced to lead and crate training (which aids toilet training later down the track) and are socialised with other dogs, cats and both children and adults. When you take home an Ahzu puppy, you are not alone, we are available day or night to answer any questions you may have for the life of your dog.
Puppies are able to go to their new homes from 8 weeks old. Our puppy buyers receive six weeks free pet insurance with Petplan for their puppy upon leaving us and complimentary membership with the NSW Samoyed Club Inc. for the current financial year. You will be provided with a comprehensive booklet with all your puppies paperwork and a guide for care and training. All puppies will have been vaccinated, micro-chipped, wormed and registered with Dogs NSW (formally Royal NSW Canine Council) on the Limited Register.
As concerned breeders, we have taken this step to try to stop indiscriminate breeding practices and to protect our Samoyeds and our kennel name.
A dog registered on the Limited Register cannot:
be exhibited at a dog show or
have any of its future puppies registered with Dogs NSW
A dog registered on the Limited Register can:
compete in official obedience and agility trials
It is important to note a dog registered on the Limited Register is just as good as a dog registered on the Main Register!
